Two nights sleeping on trains - The first returning from an excellent two day stay in the mountains of Sapa, where we were assured the scenery was excellent, but we were too busy looking where to put our feet on the slippery slopes of mud. The young tribal girls made a mockery of our efforts however, as they negotiated it all with just sandals for footwear.
Last nights 13 and a half hour effort between Hanoi and Hue (in central vietnam) was rather more basic, less WoW; more P.o.W. so to speak. But we have arived in the baking hot heat of Hue - clean of body and clotrhes, ready to tackle an early morning Motorbike ride round the sights tomorrow am.
Firstly, in honour of our motherlands. An afternoon beer under air-con then a siesta!

Here in Hanoi. It just rained. Hard. BUt the vibe of the place is delicious, as is the food.
Out Good buddies
Tomorrow we set off for a 4 week tour of Vietnam. As preparation I've been brushing up on Vietnam films (Platoon, Quiet American and Vertical Ray of the Sun) all of which got the mouth watering and the feet itchy (as long as we bump into more Sergeant Elias's and less Barnes's). Anticipating a bit of free time along the way, so i'd love to send regular readers a postcard (remember them?) - if you could send me your addresses + postcodes to the usual address i'd be much obliged; i'm thinking the Symonds Connection, The chimp Brothers, el Mac Attack, miyagi, our man in ibiza (i know that sounds like a T Shirt order for stag-do) plus anyone else who fancies a card from asia.
We've set up some sort of photo journal here, upon which I hope to add some footage of me stalking cows with hand grenades. (further link over to the right with the others) You can comment and everything.
Have a Good Summer Folks!!
Last night was the 2nd practice session for Guillermo, Bruno, Angel and the exoticly named, Ian, as we embark on a musical project to change Madrid's underfed indie scene. We are as yet untitled. So if anyone has suggestions for band names, by all means send them my way. My suggestions of We Ride at Dawn (too intense) and Gentle Ben (que?) have already been dismissed. All creative answers will be considered.
ps. a couple of photos from an excellent wedding in krakow added below.
