for a short time only here's a couple of outtakes from last fridays concert.
please excuse the breakdown in song 1 - we really couldn't hear ourselves - honest
Following on from last week's Sunderland summary.
This on from my Real Zaragoza mate, explaining quite clearly what needs to happen this weekend if his side is to avoid relegation:
"It's a bit complicated lads, but here goes:
If we win we are definitely safe because Recreativo and Valladolid are playing each other so we would finish above one of the two.
If we lose we are down.
If we draw, we are safe if Recreativo lose, or if Recreativo and Osasuna lose. If Recre does not lose and Osasuna does it would go down to goal difference with Osasuna. We are equal with them on our head to head encounter and our goal difference is shite so basically we would need Osasuna to lose 5-0.
I would not be surprised if match fixing took place. It wouldn't be the first time. For a start, Racing-Osasuna, they are playing each other, Racing fighting for UEFA, just above Mallorca who are also fighting for the same UEFA Cup spot. They will keep an eye on Mallorca-Zaragoza and will probably fix the game to match the same result as in our game, because that would mean that bith teams meet their objectives.
I would also not be surprised if someone gave Mallorca a hefty amount of money to lose. Watch this space. This is Spanish football for you. Match fixing has taken place more than you would care to imagine."
With the football season officially over, I've been having some idle email banter with friends about our respective clubs. kudos to Jim L. for this honest assesment of his side's Player of the year...
"Overall I'd probably say Andy Reid. He can hold onto the ball and most of the time will pass it to one of his own players. It really is that basic at Sunderland... "
