Sound Theory Book Club: Engleby
I read Sebastian Faulks'
Birdsong a while ago and thought it was brilliant, a few years later I read
Charlotte Gray and thought it was alright, and then I read
On Green Dolphin Street and thought it was rubbish. So when I was lent
Engleby, I wasn't really sure what to expect. Well, it was a right good read, finished just inside a week (currently in my fourth year of trying to finish off
To Kill a Mockingbird in Spanish) - the eponymous narrator reminded me of Holden Caulfield or The Outsider. Highly recommended. 4/5
